সংস্কৃত ‘লঙ্ঘ্’ (অতিক্রম করা) ধাতু থেকে ‘লঙ্ঘিত’ (অতিক্রান্ত/ভঙ্গকৃত) এবং তার পূর্বে নঞ্-প্রত্যয় ‘অ-’ যোগে ‘অলঙ্ঘিত’—অর্থ ‘যা অতিক্রম/ভঙ্গ করা হয়নি’
