সংস্কৃত ‘ছন্দ’ (ছন্দ/বৃত্ত, তাল-লয়) + বাংলা বিশেষণ-প্রত্যয় ‘ময়’ (ভরা/সমৃদ্ধ), অর্থাৎ ‘ছন্দে ভরা’

From Sanskrit ‘ছন্দ’ (meter/rhythm) + Bengali adjectival suffix ‘ময়’ (full of), literally “full of rhythm”
