Definition
To hypothecate means to pledge property (often without physically handing it over) as collateral for a loan, or to assign a particular tax/revenue stream to a named public expense.
hypothecate का अर्थ है किसी ऋण के लिए संपत्ति को (अक्सर कब्ज़ा दिए बिना) गिरवी/बंधक के रूप में सुरक्षा देना; या किसी विशेष सार्वजनिक खर्च के लिए किसी कर/राजस्व को निर्धारित (earmark) करना।
