বাংলা ‘হেলা/হেলানো’ (কাত করা/ঢাল দেওয়া) ধাতু-পরিবার থেকে নামরূপে ‘হেলান’ গঠিত; অর্থে ‘ঢাল/ভর’ ধারণা যুক্ত

Formed in Bengali as a nominal derivative from the verb-family ‘হেলা/হেলানো’ (to incline/tilt/lean), carrying the sense of ‘tilt/slope’ and by extension ‘support’
