বাংলা ‘চিনা/চেনা’ ধাতু থেকে ‘চিন-’ ভিত্তি গঠিত; এর সঙ্গে অতীত অভ্যাসবাচক প্রথম পুরুষ একবচনের বিভক্তি/প্রত্যয় ‘-তাম’ যুক্ত হয়ে ‘চিনতাম’ রূপটি হয়েছে।

Definition
