হঠাৎ কোনো ঘটনা, বিপদ, যন্ত্রণা, বিস্ময় বা গভীর অনুভূতির মুহূর্তে মানুষ ‘মা’কে সম্বোধন করে যে আকস্মিক চিৎকার/উচ্চারণ করে, তাকে ‘ও মা’ বলা হয়; এটি সাধারণত বাক্যের শুরুতে বা একা ব্যবহৃত হয় এবং কথ্য ভাষায় অত্যন্ত প্রচলিত
