বাংলা ‘লুকানো/লুকো-’ (আড়াল হওয়া) এবং ‘চুরি’ (গোপনে নেওয়া/চুপিসারে করা) উপাদানের সংযোগে গঠিত; অর্থে ‘গোপনে লুকোনো ও খোঁজার’ ধারণা থেকে খেলাটির নাম
Formed in Bengali from elements meaning ‘to hide’ (লুকানো/লুকো-) and ‘to do/ take secretly’ (চুরি), giving the sense of secret hiding and seeking that names the game.
Definition
শিশুদের একটি জনপ্রিয় খেলা, যেখানে একজন চোখ বন্ধ করে গণনা করে এবং বাকিরা লুকিয়ে পড়ে; পরে সে তাদের খুঁজে বের করার চেষ্টা করে—এই লুকানো ও খোঁজার ধারাবাহিকতাকেই ‘লুকোচুরি’ বলা হয়
A popular children’s game in which one person counts (often with eyes closed) while the others hide, and then the seeker tries to find them; the sequence of hiding and seeking is called “hide-and-seek.”
