ফারসি ‘জারী/জারী’ (جاری) থেকে; অর্থ ‘চলমান/প্রবাহিত’, পরে প্রশাসনিক বাংলায় ‘আদেশ/বিজ্ঞপ্তি ইত্যাদি জারি করা’ অর্থে প্রসারিত

From Persian ‘jārī’ (جاری) meaning ‘current/flowing, ongoing’; later extended in administrative Bengali to mean ‘to issue/enforce an order/notice, etc.’

‘জারি’ বলতে কোনো কার্যক্রম/প্রক্রিয়া অব্যাহতভাবে চলতে থাকা বা কোনো নির্দেশ, আইন, বিজ্ঞপ্তি, ফরমান ইত্যাদি আনুষ্ঠানিকভাবে প্রকাশ করে কার্যকর করা বোঝায়

‘জারি’ refers either to something continuing/ongoing, or to formally issuing and putting into effect an order, law, notice, proclamation, etc.
