সংস্কৃত ‘বিলীন’ (বি- + লীন) থেকে; ‘লীন’ অর্থ ‘মগ্ন/মিশে যাওয়া’, আর ‘বি-’ উপসর্গ দ্বারা ‘সম্পূর্ণভাবে’ অর্থ জোরালো হয়

From Sanskrit ‘bilīna’ (vi- + līna); ‘līna’ means ‘absorbed/merged’, and the prefix ‘vi-’ intensifies the sense to ‘completely’

Definition

কোনো বস্তু, রূপ, বা সত্তা অন্য কিছুর সঙ্গে এমনভাবে মিশে যায় যে পৃথকভাবে চেনা যায় না, কিংবা ধীরে ধীরে লুপ্ত/অদৃশ্য হয়ে যায়—এ অবস্থাকে ‘বিলীন’ বলা হয়
