Definition
A subcontractor is a person or company that the main (general) contractor hires to complete a specific part of a project (such as plumbing, electrical work, or painting), usually under a subcontract agreement; the client typically pays the main contractor, who then pays the subcontractor.
उपठेकेदार वह व्यक्ति या कंपनी है जिसे मुख्य (जनरल) ठेकेदार किसी परियोजना के किसी विशेष हिस्से (जैसे प्लंबिंग, बिजली का काम, पेंटिंग आदि) को पूरा करने के लिए उपठेका/सब-कॉन्ट्रैक्ट के तहत नियुक्त करता है; आमतौर पर ग्राहक मुख्य ठेकेदार को भुगतान करता है और मुख्य ठेकेदार उपठेकेदार को भुगतान करता है।
