Probably of imitative (sound-symbolic) origin; first widely recorded in the late 19th century, popularized by a comic character named “Spoof” created by British comedian Arthur Roberts.

Definition
“Spoof” means to mimic or parody something for comic effect, or to deceive by making something appear genuine (such as a caller ID, website, email, GPS signal, or identity).
“Spoof” का मतलब किसी की मज़ाकिया नकल/पैरोडी करना होता है, या धोखा देने के लिए किसी चीज़ को असली जैसा दिखाना (जैसे कॉलर आईडी, वेबसाइट, ईमेल, जीपीएस सिग्नल या पहचान को नकली बनाना)।
