From Old English sīde (“side, flank”), from Proto-Germanic *sīdaz (“side, long”), related to the idea of length/being long.
पुरानी अंग्रेज़ी sīde (“पार्श्व/बगल”) से; यह प्रोटो-जर्मैनिक *sīdaz से आया माना जाता है, जिसका संबंध “पार्श्व/लंबाई/लंबा होना” की धारणा से है।
Definition
The word “side” can mean (1) the edge of a 2‑D shape or a face of a 3‑D object, (2) the left/right part of a person or thing, (3) a viewpoint or aspect (“the bright side”), (4) a team/faction in a contest or conflict; and as a verb, it means to take someone’s part or align with them (“side with”).
“side” का अर्थ हो सकता है: (1) 2‑आयामी आकृति की किनारी या 3‑आयामी वस्तु का एक तल/मुख, (2) किसी व्यक्ति/वस्तु का बायाँ या दायाँ भाग, (3) किसी बात का पहलू/दृष्टिकोण (“उज्ज्वल पक्ष”), (4) खेल/विवाद/संघर्ष में कोई टीम/पक्ष; और क्रिया के रूप में इसका अर्थ होता है किसी का साथ देना या किसी के पक्ष में होना (“side with”).
