From Middle English pudel/poddel, related to Low German and Dutch forms meaning ‘pool’ or ‘muddy water’; the modern sense developed for small collections of water on the ground.
यह शब्द मध्य अंग्रेज़ी pudel/poddel से आया माना जाता है और लो जर्मन/डच के उन रूपों से जुड़ा है जिनका अर्थ ‘छोटा ताल/कीचड़ भरा पानी’ था; आधुनिक अर्थ जमीन पर जमा छोटे पानी के गड्ढों के लिए विकसित हुआ।
Definition
Puddles are small, shallow pools of water that collect on roads, paths, or low areas, especially after rain; the word can also refer (less commonly) to stagnant/dirty water or to a clay-and-water mixture used to line canals and ponds.
Puddles छोटे, उथले पानी के गड्ढे/तालाबियाँ होते हैं जो बारिश के बाद सड़क, रास्ते या नीची जगहों पर जमा हो जाते हैं; यह शब्द (कम प्रचलित अर्थों में) ठहरे/गंदे पानी या नहर/तालाब को जलरोधी बनाने के लिए इस्तेमाल होने वाले मिट्टी-पानी के मिश्रण के लिए भी आता है।
