From French “pique-nique” (17th–18th c.), referring to a meal where each person contributed; later generalized in English to an outdoor meal/outing.
फ्रेंच “pique-nique” (17वीं–18वीं शताब्दी) से, जिसका अर्थ था ऐसा भोजन/मिलन जिसमें हर व्यक्ति कुछ न कुछ योगदान देता था; बाद में अंग्रेज़ी में इसका अर्थ सामान्य रूप से बाहर की सैर/खुले में भोजन तक विस्तृत हो गया।
Definition
“Picnics” is the plural of “picnic” and can also be the third-person singular present of the verb “to picnic.” As a noun, it refers to an outdoor social gathering where participants bring food, or to the food eaten there; figuratively it can mean an easy or pleasant task, usually used negatively as “no picnic.”
“Picnics”, “picnic” का बहुवचन है और क्रिया “to picnic” का तृतीय पुरुष एकवचन वर्तमान रूप भी हो सकता है। संज्ञा के रूप में यह बाहर (अक्सर प्राकृतिक स्थान पर) भोजन/पेय साथ लाकर की जाने वाली अनौपचारिक बैठक या वहाँ खाए गए भोजन को दर्शाता है; रूपक रूप में यह किसी आसान/सुखद काम के लिए भी आता है, प्रायः नकारात्मक रूप में “no picnic” (यानी आसान नहीं) के रूप में।
