From French “pique-nique” (18th century), referring to a meal where each person contributed something; later associated with outdoor meals and outings.
फ़्रेंच “pique-nique” (18वीं शताब्दी) से, जिसका अर्थ था ऐसा भोजन/मिलन जिसमें हर व्यक्ति कुछ न कुछ योगदान दे; बाद में यह बाहर की सैर और खुले में खाने से जुड़ गया।
Definition
A picnic is an informal social outing, usually outdoors (park/forest/beach), where people bring food and drink to share and eat together; the word can also mean the meal eaten there. Figuratively, “no picnic” means something is not easy. As a verb, it means to go on a picnic.
पिकनिक एक अनौपचारिक सामाजिक सैर/मिलन होता है, जो आमतौर पर बाहर (पार्क/जंगल/समुद्र-तट) में होता है, जहाँ लोग अपना खाना-पीना साथ लाकर मिलकर खाते हैं; यह शब्द वहाँ खाए जाने वाले भोजन के लिए भी आता है। मुहावरे में “no picnic” का अर्थ होता है कि काम आसान नहीं है। क्रिया रूप में इसका मतलब पिकनिक पर जाना होता है।
