From 'noumenon' (Greek noumenon, 'that which is thought', from noeîn 'to think') + English adjectival suffix -al; popularized in modern philosophy by Immanuel Kant.
'नौमेनन' से (यूनानी noumenon, अर्थ ‘जो सोचा जाता है’, क्रिया noeîn ‘सोचना’ से) + अंग्रेज़ी विशेषण-प्रत्यय -al; आधुनिक दर्शन में इमैनुएल कांट द्वारा व्यापक रूप से प्रचलित।
Definition
In Kantian philosophy, 'noumenal' describes what belongs to the noumenon—reality as it is in itself, inaccessible to the senses and known only (if at all) by reason, contrasted with the phenomenal world of appearances.
कांट के दर्शन में 'noumenal' उस वस्तु/यथार्थ से संबंधित है जो 'नौमेनन' (वस्तु-स्वयं) के रूप में है—इंद्रियों से अप्राप्य और केवल (यदि संभव हो तो) तर्क द्वारा जाना जा सकने वाला; यह 'phenomenal' यानी प्रकट/अनुभूत जगत से भिन्न है।
