Origin & History

From 'louse' + '-y' (literally 'full of lice'); later extended to mean 'dirty, unpleasant, very bad'.

'louse' (जूँ) + '-y' से बना (अर्थात 'जूँ से भरा'); बाद में अर्थ बढ़कर 'गंदा, अप्रिय, बहुत खराब/घटिया' भी हो गया।
