Variant spelling of kebab/kebob, ultimately from Turkish şiş kebap and Persian/Arabic roots meaning ‘roasted/grilled meat’; kebob is common in American English.

Kebobs are foods (commonly marinated meat, fish, paneer, or vegetables) cut into chunks, threaded on skewers, and cooked over a grill or open flame; the term is also used more broadly for kebab-style grilled items.
कबाब/केबॉब ऐसे भोजन (अक्सर मेरिनेट किया हुआ मांस, मछली, पनीर या सब्ज़ियाँ) होते हैं जिन्हें टुकड़ों में काटकर सींख/स्क्युअर में पिरोया जाता है और ग्रिल या खुली आँच पर पकाया जाता है; यह शब्द कभी-कभी सामान्य रूप से कबाब-शैली के ग्रिल्ड व्यंजनों के लिए भी इस्तेमाल होता है।
