From foot + hold; originally meaning a place to hold the foot while climbing, later extended to mean a secure position or base.
foot + hold से बना; शुरू में चढ़ाई के दौरान पैर टिकाने की जगह/सहारा, बाद में इसका अर्थ रूपक रूप में ‘मजबूत स्थिति/आधार’ तक विस्तृत हुआ।
Definition
Footholds are secure places where you can put your feet to keep balance while climbing or standing; figuratively, they are stable positions (in work, power, or a market) that are difficult to dislodge.
Footholds वे मजबूत जगहें/सहारे हैं जहाँ पैर टिकाकर चढ़ते या खड़े रहते समय संतुलन रखा जाता है; रूपक रूप में, यह काम, सत्ता या बाज़ार में ऐसा स्थिर स्थान/पकड़ है जिसे हटाना आसान नहीं होता।
