Formed from eugenic + -al; eugenic comes from Greek eugenēs ‘well-born’ (eu ‘well’ + genos ‘race, kind’), popularized in the late 19th century.
eugenic + -al से बना; eugenic यूनानी eugenēs ‘अच्छे/श्रेष्ठ वंश का’ (eu ‘अच्छा’ + genos ‘वंश/जाति/प्रकार’) से आया, जिसका प्रचलन 19वीं सदी के अंत में बढ़ा।
Definition
Relating to or advocating eugenics, i.e., ideas or policies aimed at improving the genetic qualities of a human population by influencing reproduction (a concept now widely criticized for being unethical and historically linked to discrimination).
यूजेनिक्स (वंश/आनुवंशिकता सुधार) से संबंधित या उसका समर्थन करने वाला; अर्थात ऐसी धारणाएँ/नीतियाँ जो प्रजनन को प्रभावित करके मानव जनसंख्या की आनुवंशिक गुणवत्ता “सुधारने” का लक्ष्य रखती हैं (आज इसे प्रायः अनैतिक माना जाता है और ऐतिहासिक रूप से भेदभाव से जुड़ा रहा है)।
