From Middle English coppis/coppice, from Old French copeiz (from coper ‘to cut’), referring to woodland cut back for regrowth.
मध्य अंग्रेज़ी coppis/coppice से; पुरानी फ़्रेंच copeiz (coper ‘काटना’ से) से, जिसका अर्थ पुनः उगने के लिए काटी जाने वाली वन-भूमि है।
Definition
Coppices are small areas of woodland where trees are regularly cut back near ground level so they regrow and provide a renewable supply of wood (fuel, poles, timber).
कॉपिस (coppices) छोटे जंगल/झाड़ियाँ होते हैं जहाँ पेड़ों को समय-समय पर जमीन के पास से काटा जाता है ताकि वे फिर से उगें और ईंधन, डंडों या लकड़ी की लगातार/नवीकरणीय आपूर्ति मिलती रहे।
