From Middle English bugge/bogge (“goblin, scarecrow”) + boo (a cry used to frighten), popularized in early modern English for a child-frightening creature; later generalized to mean a persistent fear or annoyance.
मध्य अंग्रेज़ी bugge/bogge (अर्थ: भूत/डरावना प्राणी) और boo (डराने की आवाज़) से बना; आरंभिक आधुनिक अंग्रेज़ी में बच्चों को डराने वाले काल्पनिक प्राणी के अर्थ में प्रचलित हुआ और बाद में ‘लगातार डर/झुंझलाहट/परेशानी’ के अर्थ में विस्तृत हो गया।
Definition
A bugaboo is originally a make-believe creature used to scare children, and by extension it means something that keeps troubling or worrying someone (a constant fear or annoyance).
बगाबू मूल रूप से बच्चों को डराने के लिए गढ़ा गया काल्पनिक डरावना प्राणी है; विस्तार में इसका अर्थ किसी व्यक्ति को लगातार परेशान करने वाली चिंता/डर या झुंझलाहट का कारण भी होता है।
