From “Aryan” (Indo-Aryan, from Sanskrit ā́rya ‘noble; Arya’) + “Dravidian” (from Draviḍa, a term associated with southern India), combined in modern scholarly English to label Indo-Aryan–Dravidian comparisons or contrasts.
‘आर्य’ (इंडो-आर्य; संस्कृत ‘आ́र्य’ से, अर्थ ‘श्रेष्ठ/आर्य’) + ‘द्रविड़’ (द्रविḍ/द्रविड़—दक्षिण भारत से संबद्ध पद) के संयोजन से बना आधुनिक विद्वतापूर्ण अंग्रेज़ी प्रयोग, जो इंडो-आर्य और द्रविड़ के तुलनात्मक/विरोधात्मक संदर्भों को दर्शाता है।
