From white + cap; originally referring to the white, cap-like foam on wave tops (recorded from the 17th century).
ইংরেজি white (সাদা) + cap (টুপি) থেকে; শুরুতে ঢেউয়ের মাথায় টুপির মতো যে সাদা ফেনা ওঠে তাকে বোঝাতে ব্যবহৃত (১৭শ শতক থেকে নথিভুক্ত)।
Definition
A whitecap is the foamy white crest that forms on the top of a wave, especially in windy conditions on the sea or a lake; by extension it can also mean a white cap worn on the head.
হোয়াইটক্যাপ হলো ঢেউয়ের চূড়ায় তৈরি হওয়া সাদা ফেনার টুপির মতো অংশ, বিশেষ করে সমুদ্রে বা হ্রদে বাতাস বেশি থাকলে; বিস্তৃত অর্থে এটি মাথায় পরা সাদা টুপিকেও বোঝাতে পারে।
