মধ্য ইংরেজি থেকে ধ্বন্যানুকরণমূলক (অনোমাটোপোয়িক) শব্দ; পাখির ডাকের ধ্বনি অনুকরণ করে তৈরি। পরে ‘কথার কিচিরমিচির/গল্পগুজব’ অর্থে বিস্তৃত হয় এবং ২১শ শতকে সামাজিক যোগাযোগমাধ্যম ‘Twitter’ (বর্তমানে X) ব্র্যান্ডের সঙ্গে যুক্ত হয়।
Definition
Twitter is (1) the light, quick sound made by birds, and by extension lively, trivial talk or chatter; (2) in modern usage, a short post (“tweet”) on the platform X (formerly called Twitter).
Twitter বলতে (১) পাখির দ্রুত, হালকা কিচিরমিচির শব্দ বোঝায়; প্রসারিত অর্থে তুচ্ছ/হালকা কথাবার্তা বা কিচিরমিচিরও বোঝায়; (২) আধুনিক ব্যবহারে X (আগে Twitter) প্ল্যাটফর্মে দেওয়া ছোট বার্তা/পোস্টকেও বোঝায়।
