From New Latin stenosis, from Greek sténōsis “a narrowing”, from stenoûn “to narrow” (from stenós “narrow”).
নিউ লাতিন stenosis থেকে; গ্রিক sténōsis অর্থ ‘সংকোচন/সরু হয়ে যাওয়া’, যা এসেছে stenoûn ‘সরু করা’ ক্রিয়া থেকে (মূল গ্রিক stenós ‘সরু’)।
Definition
Stenosis is a medical term for an abnormal narrowing of a passage in the body—most commonly a blood vessel, heart valve, or the spinal canal—which can restrict normal flow (such as blood or nerve signals) and cause symptoms.
স্টেনোসিস হলো শরীরের কোনো নলাকার পথ বা ছিদ্রের (যেমন রক্তনালি, হৃদযন্ত্রের ভাল্ভ, বা মেরুদণ্ডের স্পাইনাল ক্যানাল) অস্বাভাবিক সংকোচন/সরু হয়ে যাওয়া, যার ফলে স্বাভাবিক প্রবাহ (যেমন রক্তপ্রবাহ বা স্নায়ুর সংকেত) বাধাগ্রস্ত হয়ে উপসর্গ দেখা দিতে পারে।
