Origin & History
From pebble + dash(ed): in building, to dash means to throw or fling a mixture (or pebbles) onto wet mortar/plaster; the term is recorded in British building usage from the late 19th to early 20th century.
Pebble (নুড়ি/কঙ্কর) + dash(ed) (ছুড়ে মারা/ছিটানো) থেকে: নির্মাণকাজে dash বলতে ভেজা মর্টার/প্লাস্টারের ওপর মিশ্রণ বা নুড়ি ছুড়ে লাগানোকে বোঝায়; শব্দটি ব্রিটিশ নির্মাণভাষায় উনবিংশ শতাব্দীর শেষভাগ থেকে বিংশ শতাব্দীর শুরুর দিকে নথিভুক্ত।
Definition
Pebble-dashed describes a wall surface finished by applying a wet coat of plaster or cement and then throwing small stones (pebbles) onto it so they stick, creating a rough, weather-resistant texture.
পেবল-ড্যাশড বলতে এমন দেয়ালের পৃষ্ঠ বোঝায় যেখানে ভেজা প্লাস্টার বা সিমেন্টের ওপর ছোট নুড়ি/কঙ্কর ছুড়ে লাগিয়ে দেওয়া হয়, ফলে খসখসে ও আবহাওয়া-সহনশীল টেক্সচার তৈরি হয় (সাধারণত বাইরের দেয়ালে)।
