From Urdu/Hindi pajāma (literally ‘leg clothing’), from Persian pāy ‘leg/foot’ + jāma ‘garment’; adopted into English in the 18th–19th centuries.
উর্দু/হিন্দি ‘পাজামা/পাজামা’ (অর্থ ‘পায়ের পোশাক’) থেকে; এটি ফারসি ‘পায়’ (পা/পায়ের অংশ) + ‘জামা’ (পোশাক) থেকে গঠিত। ইংরেজিতে ১৮–১৯ শতকে গ্রহণ করা হয়।
Definition
Pajamas are comfortable clothes worn in bed or around the home for sleeping and relaxing, usually made of soft fabric and often consisting of a top and matching pants.
পাজামা হলো ঘুমানো বা বাড়িতে আরাম করার জন্য পরা ঢিলেঢালা ও আরামদায়ক পোশাক, সাধারণত নরম কাপড়ে তৈরি এবং প্রায়ই একটি ওপরের অংশ (শার্ট/জ্যাকেট) ও মিলিয়ে প্যান্ট/ট্রাউজার থাকে।
