সংস্কৃত ‘ঊর্মি/উর্মি’ (তরঙ্গ, ঢেউ) ধাতু/শব্দমূল থেকে ‘উর্মিল’—অর্থে ‘তরঙ্গিত’ ও প্রসারিতভাবে ‘ঝলমলে/দীপ্তিময়’; বাংলায় প্রধানত সাহিত্যিক বিশেষণ ও ব্যক্তিনাম হিসেবে ব্যবহৃত
