‘সন্ধান’ শব্দটি সংস্কৃত ‘সন্ধান’ (যোগ/সংযোগ, মিলন; পরে ‘খোঁজ’) থেকে বাংলায় এসেছে এবং ‘করা’ সহ ক্রিয়াপদে ব্যবহৃত হয়ে অর্থ হয় ‘খোঁজ করা/অনুসন্ধান করা’

The word ‘সন্ধান’ comes into Bengali from Sanskrit ‘সন্ধान’ (joining/connection; later ‘search’), and with ‘করা’ forms a verbal phrase meaning ‘to search/investigate’
