পৃথিবীর বায়ুমণ্ডলের স্ট্র্যাটোস্ফিয়ারে (প্রধানত প্রায় ১৫–৩৫ কিমি উচ্চতায়) থাকা ওজোন (O₃) গ্যাসের তুলনামূলকভাবে ঘন একটি স্তর, যা সূর্যের ক্ষতিকর অতিবেগুনি (UV) রশ্মির বড় অংশ শোষণ করে জীবজগতকে সুরক্ষা দেয়; এই স্তরের ক্ষয়কে ‘ওজোনস্তর ক্ষয়’ বলা হয়
