বাংলা 'দুই' + 'মুখ' + বিশেষণপ্রত্যয় 'ী' যোগে গঠিত; আক্ষরিক অর্থ 'দুই মুখ/দুই দিকযুক্ত' এবং সম্প্রসারিত অর্থে 'দ্বিচারী' বোঝায়
