From French viscose (late 19th century), from visc(ous) + -ose, referring to the viscous solution used in making rayon from cellulose.

Definition
Viscose is a type of rayon: a regenerated cellulose fibre made from wood pulp or other plant cellulose. The cellulose is dissolved into a thick (viscous) solution and then spun into fibres to make yarn and fabric; viscose often feels soft and drapes well, but can be weaker when wet.
विस्कोस रेयॉन का एक प्रकार है: लकड़ी के गूदे या अन्य पौधों की सेल्यूलोज़ से बना पुनर्जनित (रीजनरेटेड) सेल्यूलोज़ रेशा। सेल्यूलोज़ को रसायनों से घोलकर गाढ़ा (चिपचिपा) घोल बनाया जाता है और फिर उसे महीन रेशों के रूप में निकालकर सूत/कपड़ा बनाया जाता है; विस्कोस आमतौर पर मुलायम होता है और अच्छी ड्रेपिंग देता है, लेकिन गीला होने पर अपेक्षाकृत कमजोर हो सकता है।
