Definition
A spindle is (1) a rotating shaft in a machine (such as a lathe, drill, or wheel) that holds or turns a tool or workpiece; (2) a rod used in traditional spinning to twist fibers into yarn; and (3) something long, thin, and tapering at both ends, described as spindle-shaped.
स्पिंडल (1) मशीन में घूमने वाला धुरा/शाफ्ट होता है (जैसे लेथ, ड्रिल या पहिया) जो औज़ार या वर्कपीस को पकड़कर घुमाता है; (2) पारंपरिक काताई में रेशों को मरोड़कर सूत बनाने के लिए इस्तेमाल होने वाली छड़; और (3) कोई लंबी, पतली चीज़ जो दोनों सिरों पर पतली होती जाए, जिसे स्पिंडल-आकार (spindle-shaped) कहा जाता है।
