From Middle English “russhen” (to rush) and “rusche” (rush plant), from Old French “ruser” (to dodge, thrust) and/or related Germanic forms; the plant-name sense is ultimately from Latin “ruscus” (a kind of shrub).
मध्य अंग्रेज़ी “russhen” (तेज़ी से जाना) और “rusche” (रश/सरकंडा पौधा) से; यह पुराने फ़्रेंच “ruser” (बच निकलना/धक्का देना) तथा संबंधित जर्मैनिक रूपों से जुड़ा माना जाता है। पौधे वाला अर्थ अंततः लैटिन “ruscus” (एक प्रकार की झाड़ी) से संबंधित है।
Definition
“Rush” can mean hurrying quickly because of urgency, a sudden strong movement/flow (of people, water, feelings), or a busy time when many things happen at once (e.g., morning rush). It is also the name of a reed-like plant used for weaving.
“Rush” का अर्थ हो सकता है: जल्दी/घबराहट में तेज़ी से काम करना या जाना, किसी चीज़ का अचानक तेज़ प्रवाह/उछाल (लोगों, पानी, भावनाओं आदि का), या वह व्यस्त समय जब एक साथ बहुत कुछ हो (जैसे morning rush)। यह एक सरकंडे जैसी घास/पौधे का नाम भी है जिसका उपयोग बुनाई में होता है।
