Origin & History
From the phrase red eye(s): first referring to bloodshot, tired eyes associated with sleepless overnight travel; later extended to name overnight flights, and also used for the flash-photography red-pupil effect.
यह शब्द-प्रयोग पहले नींद की कमी/थकान से लाल दिखने वाली आँखों (bloodshot eyes) के अर्थ में प्रचलित हुआ; बाद में इसी से रात में चलने वाली ओवरनाइट उड़ानों का नाम पड़ा, और आगे चलकर फ्लैश फ़ोटोग्राफी में पुतलियों के लाल दिखने वाले प्रभाव के लिए भी इस्तेमाल होने लगा।
Definition
Red-eye commonly means an overnight flight that leaves late at night and arrives early the next morning; it can also refer to eyes that look red from tiredness/irritation, or the red-pupil effect in flash photography.
