Definition
In linguistics, a proclitic is an unstressed function word or bound form that cannot stand alone and is phonologically attached to the word that follows it (its host), e.g., French "je" in "je t’aime".
भाषाविज्ञान में, proclitic एक ऐसा अ-बलाघाती (unstressed) कार्य-शब्द/बंध रूप है जो अकेले स्वतंत्र रूप से नहीं बोला जाता और उच्चारण की दृष्टि से अपने बाद आने वाले शब्द (host) से जुड़कर उसी का हिस्सा बनकर बोला जाता है; जैसे फ़्रेंच में "je" ("je t’aime" में)।
