Definition
The Pope is the bishop of Rome and the spiritual head of the Roman Catholic Church, also the sovereign of Vatican City; in some traditions (e.g., Coptic Church) a chief bishop may also be called “pope,” and the word has a few rare regional senses for certain birds or fish.
