From poly- (“many”) + -gamous (from Greek gamos “marriage”); formed in English to mean “practicing polygamy.”
poly- (“अनेक/बहु”) + -gamous (यूनानी gamos “विवाह” से) से बना; अंग्रेज़ी में “बहुविवाह का पालन करने वाला/संबंधित” अर्थ में विकसित।
Definition
Describes a person, relationship, or society where a man or woman has more than one spouse at the same time; also used more generally for anything showing or involving polygamy.
यह उस व्यक्ति, संबंध या समाज का वर्णन करता है जहाँ एक पुरुष या स्त्री के एक ही समय में एक से अधिक जीवनसाथी हों; सामान्य रूप से बहुविवाह से संबंधित/उसे दर्शाने वाली स्थिति के लिए भी प्रयोग होता है।
