From the verb “pocket” (to put into a pocket), from Middle English “poket”, from Old French “poque/poquette” meaning a small bag; “pocketed” is the past form.

Definition
“Pocketed” describes having put something into a pocket, or having taken/kept something (often money) for oneself; it can also mean sinking a ball in billiards/pool, and figuratively it can mean accepting an insult or loss without complaint.
