Describing an igneous rock texture in which conspicuous larger crystals (phenocrysts) are set within a finer-grained groundmass, indicating two-stage cooling.
आग्नेय शैलों की उस बनावट का वर्णन, जिसमें स्पष्ट रूप से दिखाई देने वाले बड़े क्रिस्टल (फीनोक्रिस्ट) सूक्ष्म-दानेदार आधारद्रव्य (ग्राउंडमास) में जड़े होते हैं, जो दो चरणों में शीतलन का संकेत देता है।
