Origin & History
Named after Austrian mineralogist Wilhelm von Petz (1812–1887) + the mineral suffix -ite; the mineral name came into scientific use in the 19th century.
इसका नाम ऑस्ट्रियाई खनिजविज्ञानी विल्हेल्म वॉन पेट्ज़ (1812–1887) के नाम पर पड़ा; इसमें खनिज-प्रत्यय “-ite” जुड़ा है। यह नाम 19वीं शताब्दी में वैज्ञानिक उपयोग में आया।
Definition
Petzite is a rare ore mineral composed mainly of silver, gold, and tellurium, occurring in hydrothermal veins and telluride-rich gold deposits and sometimes mined as a source of precious metals.
पेट्ज़ाइट एक दुर्लभ अयस्क खनिज है जिसमें मुख्यतः चाँदी, सोना और टेल्यूरियम होते हैं; यह प्रायः हाइड्रोथर्मल शिराओं तथा टेल्यूराइड-समृद्ध स्वर्ण निक्षेपों में मिलता है और कभी-कभी बहुमूल्य धातुओं के स्रोत के रूप में निकाला जाता है।
