Definition
A parrot is a bird in the order Psittaciformes, often brightly colored and known for mimicking sounds and sometimes human speech. Figuratively, a “parrot” is someone who repeats what others say without original thought or understanding; as a verb, to “parrot” means to repeat words or ideas mechanically.
तोता (Psittaciformes वर्ग का पक्षी) प्रायः चमकीले रंग का होता है और आवाज़ों, कभी-कभी मानव वाणी की भी नकल कर सकता है। रूपक रूप में “parrot/तोता” उस व्यक्ति के लिए कहा जाता है जो बिना समझे या बिना मौलिक विचार के दूसरों की बात दोहराता है; क्रिया रूप में “to parrot” का अर्थ है किसी बात/विचार को यांत्रिक रूप से दोहराना।
