Origin & History
From oro- (from Greek 'oros' = mountain) + -graphic/-graphicus, used in scientific terms relating to the description or mapping of mountains; in meteorology it came to denote mountain-induced atmospheric effects.
'ओरो-' (यूनानी 'ओरोस' = पर्वत) + '-ग्राफिक' से निर्मित; मूलतः पर्वतों के वर्णन/मानचित्रण से जुड़े वैज्ञानिक शब्दों में प्रयुक्त, और मौसम विज्ञान में पर्वत-जनित वायुमंडलीय प्रभावों के अर्थ में प्रचलित हुआ।
