Definition
An onomasticon is a reference work that collects and organizes proper names—such as people’s names, place names, or names in ancient texts—often giving spellings, variants, meanings, and historical or linguistic notes.
ऑनोमैस्टिकॉन एक संदर्भ-ग्रंथ/सूची होती है जो व्यक्तिनाम, स्थाननाम या प्राचीन ग्रंथों में आए नाम जैसे विशेष नामों को एकत्र करके व्यवस्थित करती है; इसमें अक्सर वर्तनी, रूपांतर, अर्थ तथा ऐतिहासिक या भाषावैज्ञानिक टिप्पणियाँ दी जाती हैं।
