लैटिन शब्द nidus (“घोंसला”) से; बाद में वैज्ञानिक/चिकित्सीय लैटिन में इसका प्रयोग किसी चीज़ के उत्पत्ति-स्थल या पनपने के केंद्र के अर्थ में होने लगा।
Definition
Nidus means a nest or central point where something begins or develops; in medicine it refers to the focus/origin of an infection, or the core site of a lesion such as an arteriovenous malformation (AVM).
निडस का अर्थ 'घोंसला' या ऐसा केन्द्रीय स्थान है जहाँ से कोई चीज़ शुरू होती है या विकसित होती है; चिकित्सा में यह संक्रमण के स्रोत/केंद्र या किसी घाव/असामान्य ऊतक (जैसे ए.वी.एम.) के मुख्य भाग को दर्शाता है।
