Definition
Mosaicism is a biological/genetic condition in which an individual has two or more groups of cells with different genetic makeup, even though they originated from the same fertilized egg; it can arise from mutations during development and may affect only certain tissues.
मोज़ेकिज़्म (मोज़ाइसीज़्म) एक जैविक/आनुवंशिक अवस्था है जिसमें एक ही व्यक्ति के भीतर दो या अधिक प्रकार की कोशिकाओं के समूह अलग-अलग आनुवंशिक संरचना (जीन/क्रोमोसोम) के साथ पाए जाते हैं, जबकि वे एक ही निषेचित अंडे से उत्पन्न होते हैं; यह विकास के दौरान होने वाले उत्परिवर्तन से हो सकता है और अक्सर केवल कुछ ऊतकों को ही प्रभावित करता है।
