Definition
A monsoon is a large-scale seasonal change in wind direction that often causes a distinct wet season with prolonged, heavy rains (and sometimes a dry season) in regions such as the Indian subcontinent, Southeast Asia, and parts of Africa and Australia.
मानसून हवा की दिशा में होने वाला बड़े पैमाने का मौसमी परिवर्तन है, जिसके कारण भारत उपमहाद्वीप, दक्षिण-पूर्व एशिया तथा अफ्रीका और ऑस्ट्रेलिया के कुछ हिस्सों में लंबे समय तक भारी वर्षा वाली स्पष्ट बरसाती ऋतु (और कभी-कभी शुष्क ऋतु) आती है।
