From Greek monostikhos (monos ‘single’ + stikhos ‘line/verse’), used in late Latin as monostichus and later adopted into English.
यूनानी monostikhos से (monos ‘एक/एकल’ + stikhos ‘पंक्ति/छंद’); यह रूप late Latin में monostichus के रूप में आया और बाद में अंग्रेज़ी में प्रचलित हुआ।
Definition
A monostich is a complete poetic composition or a stanza made up of only one line, often designed to stand alone as a self-contained statement.
मोनोस्टिक (एकपंक्तिक) ऐसी कविता या छंद/स्तंभक है जो केवल एक ही पंक्ति का होता है और प्रायः अपने आप में पूर्ण अर्थ प्रकट करता है।
