Definition
A linesman is someone whose job involves lines—either as a sports official who helps enforce rules by watching boundary lines and offsides, or as a utility worker who installs and repairs power/telephone cables (often on poles).
लाइन्समैन वह व्यक्ति होता है जिसका काम “लाइन” से जुड़ा होता है—या तो खेलों में अधिकारी के रूप में जो सीमा-रेखाओं/ऑफसाइड पर नज़र रखकर निर्णय में मदद करता है, या फिर विद्युत/टेलीफोन जैसी ओवरहेड तारों को लगाने और उनकी मरम्मत करने वाला कर्मचारी (अक्सर खंभों पर काम करने वाला)।
